textile

I learnt to be creative through my grandmothers and great-grandmothers who tought me how to sew, embroider, quilt and knit from a very young age. It was the craft that I knew best, and so when at the age of 20 I got to choose my own education, I chose fashion and textile design. When I later found the painting format I quickly realized that the painting is essentially a piece of textile and a door opened to this world that I knew so well. I started making these textile pieces like I would paint abstractly, where I was capturing feelings, emotions and thoughts - but now expressing them with color and texture through threads, beads and fabrics.
